It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Science & Engineering, Pundra University of Science & Technology. Being the Science & Engineering faculty, great potential lies ahead of us to contribute to the development of our country, by preparing young graduate engineers who will be the foundation engineers. Following the vision of the university “Prosper lives through education” the department intends to train a set of young graduates who are equipped with basic knowledge in Civil Engineering and other relevant knowledge, and able to solve open-ended problems presented to them.
At present department has given prime focus to its undergraduate program leading to the award of the fouryear degree in Bachelor of the Science of Engineering specialized in Civil Engineering.
While the degree program has ensured the basic credit requirement of a graduate Civil Engineer, students have the option of specializing further in the areas of demand. At present, the subjects related to the Structural Engineering minor is being offered. In the future students may be able to work towards minors in Environmental Engineering and Transportation Engineering or any other minor based on industrial demand.
In order to deliver the above curriculum, the department is well equipped with a team of dynamic and qualified staff members.
While paying due attention to the undergraduate program, the department is actively involved in research activities. The academic staff members are continuing their research work with the involvement of the industry.
Department has active collaboration with the industry and universities through which joint research activities and other collaborative work are conducted.
We are in our initial inception. However, the department is excited and positive about the future to unveil. Therefore, the department invites you to be a part of this journey ahead.
At Pundra University of Science & Technology, we believe that student learning is the top priority and we work hard to offer our students a high standard of engineering education to achieve their fullest potential. Our Students will develop their technology skills, their individual talents, sharpen their critical thinking and we are working hard to make Pundra University of Science & Technology as the Center of Excellence in Engineering and Technology Education & Research by working wth the students in studies as well as in applied research.
